New Images of Andrew Garfield on the Set of THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN

Several new images of Andrew Garfield on the set of Marc Webb’s The Amazing Spider-Man have popped up online. The images feature the wall-crawler in what looks to be a stand-off situation as well as a half-suited Garfield apparently taking tips on how to point a gun at a grounded opponent. All right, so that is probably a little out of character for Spidey.

In addition to Garfield, The Amazing Spider-Man also stars Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Martin Sheen, Sally Field, and Denis Leary. The film hits 3D theaters on July 3, 2012.

Here are a few of the images. Head over to The Daily Blam! to check out the rest of the set pics.

SPIDER-MAN Reboot Titled THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN; New Image Released

Sony has announced that Marc Webb’s Spider-Man reboot will be officially titled The Amazing Spider-Man.  That’s not too much of a surprise.  I figured they would pull the title from one of the many Spider-Man comics and I assumed the title would either be “The Amazing Spider-Man” or “The Spectacular Spider-Man”.  At least we can now stop referring to it as “Marc Webb’s Spider-Manreboot.”

Sony has also released a new image of Spidey, this time with the mask on.  I have to say that I’m not crazy about it.  The bug-yellow eyes weird me out and the mesh-pattern feels too busy.  Also, the design of the gloves gives me flashbacks to the Spider-Man 2099 costume and that’s not a good thing.  The image also gives us a better look at the new web-shooters, which look fine.

Close-Up Still of SPIDER-MAN Suit on the Set of the Reboot

With Marc Webb’s Spider-Man reboot currently filming on location in LA, amateur photographers have jumped at the chance to snap shots of Spidey running around the streets. It appears that this same sequence has been filming for the last few days, and someone finally got a really clear shot of the stuntman in action.

The untitled 3D Spider-Man reboot starring Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone is set for release on July 3, 2012.

As you can see, this is clearly a Spidey suit made specifically for stunts, and not for oogling. It’s much less dramatic than the official still that was released last week.  This super clear shot (thanks MTV) does, however, give us our first look at the mask as well as another look at those mechanical web-shooters the internet has been buzzing about. I quite liked the suit unveiled in the official still, and I’ll reserve judgment on this suit until it’s shown on film, after color-corection, etc.  It is kinda cool to see the stunt suit so clearly though. What about you? What do you think about the suit so far?

First Image of Andrew Garfield in Costume as SPIDER-MAN

Sony Pictures has released the first official image of Andrew Garfield in his Spider-Man costume.  I loved the Spider-Man outfit from Sam Raimi’s movies so it’s tough not to mess with a good thing.  I don’t want to nitpick this one image to death when A) I don’t know the context of the scene; and B) it’s ultimately just a costume.  It’s slightly stylized, but it still doesn’t deviate too far from the mesh-style of the costume from the first three films.  I am curious to know why the Spider emblem’s leg reach all the way down to Peter Parker’s crotch, but I’m sure there’s a good reason for it.  But now I’m curious to know what the mask looks like…

Marc Webb’s untitled 3D Spider-Man reboot is due out July 3, 2012.

The new costume appears to have tiny gold objects attached to the wrist.  Are these web-shooters?  For folks who don’t know, in the original comics, Spider-Man built himself web-shooters that he attached to his wrists.  However, during development of the original Spider-Man, it was decided to make the webshooters an organic mutation since the filmmakers didn’t think it was believable that a high-schooler could build something so advanced.  Here’s a close-up of the possible web-shooters:
